Hilary L. Williamson
Hilary graduated magna cum laude from the University of Sioux Falls in
2003 with a B.A. in criminal justice. During her undergraduate career,
she was a Presidential Scholarship recipient for four years, was named
the 2002 All-American Cross Country Scholar Athlete, and served as a
Faculty Development Board Member.
She received her Juris Doctor in May of 2006 from the University of
South Dakota School of Law, where she was a Sterling Honor Graduate
and Lead Articles Editor for the South Dakota Law Review (2005-2006). Her
article Closs v. Board of Pardons and Parole: An Absence of
Punishment Leads to an Absence of Credit was published in the
2005 South Dakota Law Review. In both 2004 and 2005 Hilary was
a recipient of the USD Law School Foundation Scholarship and was
named to the Dean's List both years as well. She received the CALI
Excellence for the Future Award in Public International Law in the
Fall of 2005. Hilary was the Graduate Assistant to the South
Dakota Board of Regents in 2005-06.
Following graduation, Hilary served as a law clerk to the Honorable
Justice Judith Meierhenry of the South Dakota Supreme Court.
She joined the firm upon completion of her clerkship.
In addition to the State Bar of South Dakota, Hilary is a
member of the American Bar Association, South Dakota Defense Lawyers Association, the Second Judicial Circuit Bar Association and Second Judicial Circuit Women in Law (President, 2010-2011). She is admitted to practice in both South Dakota and Minnesota.
