Deborah Watson
Deb Watson started her legal career in 1976 as a legal secretary with
Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith. Over time, her legal knowledge
increased and in 1990 the litigation section at the Woods law firm
offered her a position as a paralegal. She worked in that capacity
until her retirement from Woods at the end of 2006. She joined Fuller
& Sabers as a paralegal on a part-time basis beginning January
1, 2007, although to date the "part-time" nature of the
position has been illusory. Deb is adept at researching legal issues
and writing briefs, and has worked on innumerable summary judgment,
discovery, and pretrial motions, as well as many successful briefs
for submission to the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit
Court of Appeals.
Connie Leckner
Connie Leckner joined the firm as a legal secretary in 2006, bringing
with her twenty years of experience in supporting both litigation
and business practices. Connie was a graduate of Vermillion High School,
where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She began her
secretarial career in 1976 at the South Dakota Department of Public
Safety, and spent fifteen years as a legal secretary at Woods, Fuller,
Shultz & Smith before joining Fuller & Sabers. Connie is a
champion pool player and an accomplished seamstress, and says that
both skills have proven to be surprisingly handy during her legal
career.
Tami Hurley
Tami Hurley first entered the legal profession as a word processor
at Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith in 1986. Over the years, she
worked as a legal secretary for Hoy & Hoy Law Firm and Thompson Law,
P.C., eventually becoming an administrative Assistant at Thompson
Law. She was employed briefly at a non-law related job, but missed
the challenge presented by working as a legal professional and joined
Fuller & Sabers in August of 2007. Her co-workers have found her amiable
disposition and cheerful outlook to be a welcome addition to the firm.
It doesn't hurt that she is also a crackerjack secretary.
